Cancer HotSpot Panel Key Features

  • Target 54 Cancer Gene Hotspots
  • Detect as low as 1% minor allele frequency
  • Cover more than 13,000 mutations
  • Start with as little as 250ng genomic DNA or FFPE derived DNA
Researchers from RainDance Technologies and the University of California, San Diego have developed the industry’s most comprehensive research sequencing panel for screening cancer hotspots using next-generation sequencing (NGS) systems.

A hotspot is a region of the genome containing known somatic mutations associated with cancer progression and resistance to therapy. The RainDance Cancer Hotspot Panel enables researchers to simultaneously interrogate hotspots across 54 genes and target more than 13,000 known mutations found in the Catalogue of Somatic Mutations in Cancer (COSMIC) database version 55, and discover new mutations in common tumor suppressor genes.

The panel leverages RainDance’s proprietary primer design pipeline to target the relevant regions and provide the highly accurate, consistent, and reproducible results required in cancer research.

Cancer Hotspot Panel Advantages

  • Sequence more somatic mutations

The most comprehensive cancer hotspot panel on the market. Simultaneously interrogate cancer hotspots across 54 genes and target more than 13,000 known somatic cancer mutations found in the COSMIC database.
  • Detect rare and actionable mutations

Leverage RainDance’s DeepSeq™ Solution to detect mutations as low as 1%.
  • Eliminate NGS library preparation

Reduces cost by eliminating library construction and size selection processes.
  • Reduce sequencing cost

Increases on target reads to more than 90% with DirectSeq™ Workflow which enables greater sample multiplexing on next generation sequencers.
  • Works with all Next Generation Sequencers

Unlike other cancer panels that only work with specific Next Generation Sequencers, you choose based on which sequencer you wish to use.

Comprehensive Content

The RainDance Cancer Hotspot Panel enables researchers to simultaneously interrogate more than 13,000 COSMIC mutations found on 54 genes using 660 amplicons (99kb) in a single assay.

Detecting Rare Somatic Mutations

To better understand the progression and prognosis of cancer, researchers need to be able to interrogate rare and actionable somatic mutations in heterogeneous samples.

The RainDance Cancer HotSpot Panel enables researchers to detect known mutations and uncover new mutations that are represented in as little as 1% of a heterogeneous tumor. Based on the proven RainStorm™ single-molecule picodroplet PCR technology, the Cancer Hotspot Panel delivers high specificity, and accurate detection of rare somatic changes.

*The RainDance Cancer Hotspot Panel is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
